Brand Background: Values Born from Natural Materials and Craftsmanship
“Nosou” is a new brand that brings fresh value to contemporary lifestyles by transforming the primitive allure of Japanese natural materials through the hands of skilled artisans.
The brand’s first collection is a joint development between Nottuo, a global design studio based in the rural village of Nishiawakura, Okayama, and Tomisawa Co., Ltd., a lighting manufacturer based in Chizu, Tottori. The flagship models feature solid Kyoto bamboo exteriors, embodying the brand’s philosophy at its core.

Core Value: Time Makes Beauty
We perceive the aging of natural materials not as degradation, but as a “beauty” that deepens over time. By utilizing materials such as bamboo and copper, finished by the hands of craftsmen, our lighting fixtures grow alongside their owners, developing a unique character that cannot be replicated.

Product Features: A New Relationship with Light
Our debut product, “Nosou 0°,” moves away from mechanical switches, allowing users to adjust the light through a tactile, physical motion: sliding the fixture itself.
Slide Dimming:
By sliding the fixture horizontally (0°), users can intuitively control the volume of light. This creates a new form of dialogue between the user and the light, distinct from conventional touch or push-button switches.
Sustainability Initiatives:
Designed to become a future craft, the product features low-power LED lighting, USB-C charging (avoiding the environmental burden of lithium-ion batteries), and a modular, repairable structure.

Exhibition Details: A Space Where Water, Light, and Sake Intersect
In the heart of Copenhagen’s historic district, we will host an installation that reinterprets Japanese garden culture.
Performance of Water and Light:
Bamboo has long been an integral part of Japanese daily life. Through delicate light and shadow, the reflection of water, and the use of scent and texture, visitors can experience the distinct Japanese perspective on nature through the medium of bamboo.

Collaboration with Sake Brand “LINNÉ”:
Throughout the exhibition, we will welcome Mr. Shoya Imai, CEO of LINNÉ, a brewer with experience in Paris and Tokyo. Rooted in a brewery established in 1841, Mr. Imai will provide a unique sake experience that fuses tradition and innovation, set within the illuminating space of Nosou.
