We had the pleasure of designing the business card for “ARCHIF,” the personal design office of Daisuke Fujioka, a first-class architect who also handles spatial design for nottuo.
Based in Nara, he travels anywhere in his car, taking on spatial design projects all over the country. In contrast to this dynamic work style, the wonderful spaces he creates are characterized by the use of natural materials that evoke a serene and clear atmosphere.
Among the restaurants and ryokans (traditional Japanese inns) he has designed are Michelin-starred establishments and the “Naoshima Ryokan Roka,” which has won the Good Design Award and other international accolades.
We aimed to capture the charm of Mr. Fujioka—his inner strength combined with a gentle and meticulous nature—and the essence of the spaces he creates, through the texture of the paper, reminiscent of traditional Japanese washi paper or tree bark, and the tactile feel of its embossed printing.
They are currently recruiting design staff and part-time assistants.
Please be sure to visit their website as well.
